[Album Stream] Teeth – Whatever
September 16th, 2011 § Leave a Comment
LOOK AT THIS it’s Teeth’s album available to stream. It seems like an age ago that I first heard ‘See Spaces’ and fell in love with Teeth, now that their debut has finally arrived it’s good to see that they’ve carried all of the energy of those first demos into the full record (I’m especially happy to see that ‘Pill Program’ made the cut!). This is an album for partying hard and dirty; blast it loud and have the time of your life. (And if you enjoy that you probs should go ahead and order it)
oOoOO – oOoOO EP

Witch-house. Hmm. A peculiar term that seems to be being used with quite a regularity to describe bands such as Salem and oOoOO. The fact that I dislike Salem but love oOoOO makes me want to disregard this term, but I actually see it as quite fitting. The spooky, ethereal nature of oOoOO’s tracks conjure up images of haunted places and smoke filled scenery, so I suppose a reference to witches is kinda somehow relevant? Yeah?
Whatever the hell you want to define this as, I like it. oOoOO’s self-titled EP is now available for streaming here on XLR8R.

The Hundred In The Hands (Album Stream)

My love affair with The Hundred In The Hands has been a rather accidental one. I heard a couple of tracks, thought they were interesting, but didn’t give it much more thought. I then bought their ‘This Desert’ EP randomly in Piccadilly Records (shop of dreams) a few weeks ago, and loved it. It’s been played many, many times. And yet still, I didn’t pay much attention to who this band were or where they had come from. Luckily for me, it turns out they’ve been prepping for their debut album release, which is happening right..about..now.
You can stream the self-titled debut LP from The Hundred In The Hands (who are a two piece – Brooklyn’s Eleanore Everdell and Jason Friedman) here thanks to Spinner. So far, I adore it. Review to follow…

Gold Panda – Lucky Shiner

I’ve been away for a while, drinking Strongbow for breakfast at Leeds Festival, cycling 15 miles a day to and from work, and eating a lot of Chinese food. But now I’m back to spam your ears once more. First up, the Gold Panda LP, ‘Lucky Shiner‘. I’m not sure any words are needed, just listen to the album here and thank me later.

Listen to the debut album from duo Mount Kimbie here on Beatport. Are they dubstep/electronica/experimental? Who knows. All I know is that I like them more with every listen and you probably will too.
Herzog – Search [Updated]
July 3rd, 2010 § Leave a Comment
Herzog are my favourite artist of the week. Although ‘they’ are actually just musician Nick Tolar (with Dave McHenry, Brian Hill, Dan Price and Dave Rich currently joining him for live shows). He comes from Cleveland, Ohio, and recently released a split single with Yuck on Transparent Records, who are now releasing Herzog’s debut album Search. Physical copies are available from August 12th via Pure Groove (pre-order here), with the digital version available to buy here on Bandcamp. You can stream it via the Soundcloud player below:
Wavves – King of the Beach (Album Stream)

The new album from Cali band Wavves, King of the Beach, is now streaming right here courtesy of their label Fat Possum.
I’m three tracks in right now and so far the record is a wonderful jumble of noise. The surf vibe is definitely there, along with echoing vocals, tinkling instrumentation and an abundance of energy. I’ll add more when I’ve listened in full, but for now..stream it!
